Exam Success

21st October 2005

Congratulations to Tim Cobley, who has been awarded the Chartered Institute of Taxation Ronald Ison medal for his performance in the Institute’s most recent entrance exams. The Chartered Institute of Taxation is the leading professional body in the United Kingdom concerned solely with Taxation and its entrance exams are arguably the most difficult of any professional body. Only qualified Solicitors, Barristers or Chartered Accountants are eligible to sit the exams.

Tim achieved the highest grade in the country in one of the four three hour papers that were sat over two days in May. Only half a dozen medals are awarded at each sitting. They are almost always won by students working for multinational firms of Accountants, so Tim has performed extremely well to beat all his competition into second place. Tim follows his father Roger Cobley, a tax adviser with over 30 year’s experience, into the elite ranks of the Institute’s membership.
